Replacing Integra-TR: buying a modem for an existing network
When one node of telemetry ceases to respond, the purchase begins with the question of compatibility of the new device with the already working network. To replace Integra-TR, you need to save the exchange and connection parameters of a particular object. Full designation, configuration and check-up on the stand help to prepare the delivery before the installation team leaves.

First, describe the replacement node.
Specify where the device is installed, what role it performs and with what equipment it is connected. The node at the remote pumping station and the control room modem may have different settings with the same external housing. For the application, a scheme with a base, objects and a selected replacement point is useful.
Attach a photo of the nameplate, front and rear panels, connectors and mounting. If part of the designation is not read, fix this before ordering. The full code of the old device is more important than the generic name of Integra; it helps separate the frequency range and hardware configuration from the visual similarity.
Table of comparison of the old and proposed modem
| Checking. | What to fix |
|---|---|
| Marking and version | Full code, serial number, hardware and software versions |
| Radio exchange | Frequency, bandwidth, speed and role of the node |
| Consecutive line | Port, data format, transmission control and cable |
| Power supply and installation | DC source, connectors, place and cooling conditions |
| Acceptance | Real-life requests, responses, delays, and exchange restoration |
Similar code does not provide a ready replacement
In our catalogue we have Integra-TR 242-4018-630, designated as 150-174 MHz. It is a subject-matter candidate for alignment, not a statement of compatibility with each Integra-TR. The 2012 family guide describes other Dual IF codes; you can’t apply this table to an old configuration over a single matching range.
If another generation is installed on neighboring nodes, the joint exchange mode is separately confirmed. Even when the lineup manual mentions compatibility with an earlier model, the conditions depend on configuration and mode. The decision to replace must be linked to a specific network and a verifiable set of parameters.
Save the configuration until maintenance.
Get the accepted configuration from the network specialist and match it with the available documentation. Work on changing the parameters is carried out at an agreed time. The new device is more convenient first to prepare and check separately, and only then transfer to the facility.
The code of the supplied modem, its condition and set must be specified in the quotation. For a COM cable, the electrical interface and the necessary control circuits are important; matching the size of the connector is not enough. The antenna and feeder are also checked for the current frequency and actual connectors.
Acceptance must repeat the work task
Testing is useful in two stages. At the stand, the exchange of a new device with the received nodes and equipment of the object is compared. After installation, the real polling cycle and the quality of incoming data are checked. A short, successful exchange does not confirm the operation of the entire network under normal load.
The program includes no response, repeated request and recovery after a power supply break. Criteria are agreed by the system owner: allowable delay, number of omissions and expected behavior of the software. Don’t promise to fix all faults with a single replacement – the cause may be in the power supply, cable, or hardware of the facility.
What to order with a replacement
Make separate lines for the modem and accessories. An already installed serviceable cable can be considered for preservation after inspection; the missing cable or adapter is fixed in the kit. If the installation changes, add space dimensions and photos of the existing mount.
“Integra-TR is needed to replace the node [name]. Old code is [full designation], base and neighboring nodes are [models]. Scheme, marking and exchange parameters are attached. Receiving is [city]. Please confirm the compatibility of the proposed configuration, kit and verification procedure.”
Use the preparation of documents Technical guide for connecting to SCADA and power supply coordination. If the network includes several identical objects, a separate technical guide for backup modems.
Request for delivery and city of receipt
To buy Integra-TR for an object or party, specify the city: Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Almaty or another point in Russia and Kazakhstan. Attach the full designation, the number by configuration and the requirements for the kit. The cost, current availability and delivery conditions will be confirmed in the quotation.
Questions before ordering
Does the frequency band match prove a replacement?
Nope. Comparison configuration, bandwidth and speed of radio exchange, settings, interface and work with a specific network.
Can I put the purchased modem instead of the old one?
Before installation, configuration and verification are agreed. The new apparatus must be accepted for a specific node and exchange system.
What to attach to the first request?
Full code of the old modem, nameplate, network diagram, equipment model of the facility and exchange requirements.
