MIG WIMAX Panel 2.6-14: a guide to the panel antenna
MIG WIMAX Panel 2.6-14 is a directional panel antenna of the range 2500-2700 MHz with amplification of 14 dB. This is the upper cellular band (LTE band 7/38/41 and WiMAX): the task of the antenna is to take the weak signal of the base station where the regular modem pin does not see it.
What's 14 dB?
The 14 dB gain is about a 25-fold increase in power toward the base station. In practice: the signal, which on the omnidirectional antenna barely keeps on the verge of a cliff, with the panel turns into a working channel. The panel works on the transmission – the modem does not have to “scream” at maximum power, which reduces errors and thermal load.
Design for the object, not for the showcase
The case is 220×205×30 mm and weighs 0.37 kg - the antenna can be put even on the window opening, not only on the mast. Mounting - tape clamping on the pipe or bracket, with accurate orientation horizontally and vertically: the panel is directed, the accuracy of guidance depends on the entire gain. The polarization is linear and selected during installation – it is rotated under the polarization of the base station (usually vertical).
Electrical part
Input resistance of 50 ohms, KSVN less than 1.5 in the work lane is a standard bundle with any modem or router through a reduction cable. The rule is the same as everywhere in our technical guide: antenna gain minus cable attenuation should give a plus, so the descent from the mast is made with a short and thick feeder.
Where does she stand?
Remote coastal posts, marine facilities off the coast, the CNS and warehouses in industrial zones - wherever 4G is on the edge. About use in conjunction with the modem - "4G on a remote object". If there is no cellular network in the object in principle, your channel on the radio modem: "My own network on Integra-TR".
Frequently asked questions
What is the MIG WIMAX Panel 2.6-14?
2500–2700 MHz: LTE band 7/38/41 and WiMAX. The GSM-900 or LTE-800 doesn’t work, it needs other antennas.
What does “polarization is selected during installation” mean?
The antenna is rotated during installation so that its polarization coincides with the polarization of the base station - usually vertical. A 90° error eats up most of the gain.
Can I put it without a mast?
Yes: 220×205×30 mm and 0.37 kg allow you to fasten on a window opening, wall or bracket with a tape clamping.
What cable do you need for the panel?
Coaxial 50 ohms, short and with little attenuation: a long thin cable will eat the gain from 14 dB.
