Base Block Iridium: data transmission outside GSM coverage and the receiving system
Telemetry is different from telephony.
Galileosky Base Block Iridium is designed for monitoring and transmission of telematics data. It makes sense to discuss it through a list of desired messages, objects and receiving system. This is not a satellite phone for normal dispatcher conversations.
For remote objects, determine what data is important when cellular communication is lost. Not all normal traffic is necessarily transmitted by satellite. Priorities and frequency of messages affect system configuration and service.
Check data reception
The manufacturer specifies that for the satellite channel to operate, the receiving software must support appropriate data transmission. Therefore, the name of the terminal is not enough: you need information about the server, the platform and the intended integration.
If a monitoring system is already in place, specify the current exchange format. Replacing a terminal is not a promise of automatic compatibility with any server. The inclusion of a new channel should be explicitly envisaged.
Installation composition
The application requires the installation object, power supply, placement of antennas and necessary connections. The catalog image shows the device, not the entire work kit on your facility. The composition of antennas, cables and accessories is listed separately.
For the marine project, communication with the Victoria SMS is considered under a separate service contract. The mere fact of purchasing Base Block Iridium does not automatically sign up, connect and fulfill all the requirements of a particular project.
Purchase and recurring expenses
The cost of the terminal refers to the equipment. Connection, configuration and tariff are agreed separately, taking into account the mode of transmission and the receiving system. We do not promise zero satellite transmission costs after purchasing the device.
For quotation, specify the number of objects, necessary messages, frequency, software platform, city and details. If you need a human voice channel, consider Iridium 9555 separately, without replacing the automatic telemetry task.
